Canadian Express Entry Application Process
Starting January 2015, Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) introduced a new immigration system called Express Entry. This electronic system aims to address the country’s labor market needs, both now and in the future, by attracting skilled workers from around the world. The Canada Application Process is designed to enhance Canada’s immigration system with improvements such as faster processing times, expanding opportunities for applicants from various fields, and placing a stronger emphasis on ensuring the quality of applications.
Important Note: Applicants who are already in the system or waiting for processing will not be transferred to Express Entry. If you have applied through a different Canadian immigration program, you will need to submit a new application through Express Entry to be considered.
How the Canadian Express Entry Application Process Works
To apply, candidates must create an online profile and provide information about their work experience, language skills, education, and other relevant details. Once submitted, profiles are ranked, and those who meet the program’s criteria or have a valid job offer will be invited to apply for Permanent Residency in Canada. If you do not have a job offer, you are required to register with the Government of Canada’s Job Bank, which helps connect job seekers with employers in Canada. Citizenship and Immigration Canada aims to process the majority of Express Entry applications within six months, ensuring a faster and more efficient immigration process.
Programs Under Express Entry for Permanent Residency
If selected, applicants must submit an online application for permanent residency through one of the following programs within 60 days:
- Federal Skilled Worker Program
- Federal Skilled Trades Program
- Canadian Experience Class
- Provincial Nominee Program
